Joining
the Choir
Pacific Voices
is open to singers of all ages and experience. The choir strives
to create an experience for every participant that is musically
challenging, socially fulfilling, and spiritually uplifting.
Our view is that a choir is more than a collection of vocalists. We are also a community of friends who are there for each other, musically and otherwise. The nature of a choir demands that singers give of themselves for the good of the group, and it's equally important that the choir also honors each individual at his or her own special time - on birthdays, in emergencies, meeting their families, etcetera. While our singing provides the voice, it is our strong communal bond that provides the heart that speaks to people during our performances. If we seek to be good friends, good music will follow.

Commitment
Still another key factor in the Choir's success
is the commitment by each singer to come to rehearsals and performances,
and to come on time. The heart of the choir is its blend, and
that only happens when you make it a priority to learn your part,
come regularly to practice, focus your attention, and give it
your best.

Repertoire
Our repertoire is an eclectic mix which borrows from spiritual and musical traditions around the world. Selections come from a wide range of periods as well, ranging from modern compositions to pieces from as far back as the 12th century. We strive to find lyrics and music which combine to affirm the divine, however each of us may perceive it, and to move the spirit of all who listen or sing. Mixed in for flavor, we also include pieces that are just plain fun. Because after all, fun is good for the soul!
