Joining
Pacific Voices
Purpose Statement
Pacific Voices is a community choir whose purpose is to bring together singers for a joyous and supportive choral and social experience. Through our music, our loving connection and the honoring of diverse musical and spiritual traditions, we inspire audiences and each other in a way that enriches all our lives.
A key factor in the choir's success is the commitment by each singer to come to rehearsals and performances and to come on time. The heart of the choir is its blend, and that only happens when you make it a priority to learn you part, come regularly to practice, focus your attention, and give it your best.
- Fall season rehearsals begin the first Tuesday after Labor Day. Singers for the fall season must join the choir by October 1st.
- Spring season rehearsals begin the first Tuesday after New Year's Day. Singers for the spring season must join the choir by February 1st.
Repertoire
Our repertoire is an eclectic mix, which borrows from spiritual and musical traditions around the world. Selections come from a wide range of periods as well, ranging from modern compositions to pieces from as far back as the 12th century. We strive to find lyrics and music, which combine to affirm the divine, however each of us may perceive it, and to move the spirit of all who listen or sing. Mixed in for flavor, we also include pieces that are just plain fun. Because after all, fun is good for the soul!
Member Skills
-
All singers should be able to match pitch and
keep time with the music.
- We are traditionally off book for both the Holiday Concert and the Spring Concert.
-
Soloists must be off book one week after solo assignment.

Most of the choir's funds are raised directly from choir members through a membership fee currently at $35/month
